Is House call suitable for everyone?

Unfortunately, house call service is not suitable for all pets. Even though pets are usually more comfortable at home, there are several situations that would benefit more from having an examination in the clinic. Below are a few example:

• Stray animals that are sometimes under your care
  Why are we unable to examine them: Frightened animals may run on the streets or get themselves into dangerous situations. It might be better to get them in a pet carrier and bring them to your nearest vet.
• Overly stressed animals that cannot be handled safely without sedatives
  Why are we unable to examine them: Animals with pre-existing undiscovered conditions, such as heart related diseases, may even die from too much stress.
• Extensive wounds
  Why are we unable to examine them: General anaesthesia may be required for wound repair.
• Respiratory distress
  Why are we unable to examine them: Oxygen therapy and x-rays may be required ASAP! Do not delay treatment.
