You may have seen at least one of Our Grandfather Story’s entertaining, educational, and wholesome videos on your social media.
When they approached us with this proposal to film us for a day, we were skeptical, mostly because we weren’t sure that any clients would be keen to be involved. We are lucky that we know such easygoing pet caregivers who were happy to share what it is like to be on the receiving end of the vet-patient-owner relationship.
The day of filming itself was quite an effort by everyone involved! It was tiring, but the end result was amazing. We are so impressed that they managed to compress the whole experience into a 12 minute long video!
Fun facts:
- This is not the first time Aunty Rosie, our cat, has left a welcoming gift of poop right at our visitors’ feet—hopefully it doesn’t become a habit.
- Our three cats were adopted from SPCA at a rate of one cat annually. Hopefully it doesn’t become a habit.
- The acupuncture done for the first patient, Lonzo, helped him with his hind legs movement. His back injury caused him to lose normal usage of his legs, but over time he has improved to the point where he could get up on his own at times. He has physiotherapy sessions as well (done by someone else). He is lucky to have a very dedicated caregiver.
- The treats that we use are from The Barkery, a local pet shop. Its a single-ingredient dehydrated treats, thus processed very minimally. Check it out here! And yes our cats love this dog treat!
